Brand Finance in conjunction with Mibrand Vietnam Joint Stock Company has recently announced the list of the top 50 most valuable brands in Vietnam in 2022.
By industry, insurance (up 116%), real estate (up 105%) and mechanical & construction (up 61%) are the fastest growing sectors, while telecommunications, banking and food made up contribute the most to the total value of the rankings.
Specifically, Viettel continues to be the most valuable brand in Vietnam for seven consecutive years, with a brand valuation of $8.8 billion, up 44.5%.
Viettel is 3 times more valuable than VNPT (nearly $2.9 billion) and Vinamilk (more than $2.8 billion), which are ranked second and third respectively in the ranking.
Viettel's revenue grew tremendously in 2021, while the brand has always focused on environmental sustainability and urban biodiversity.
Viettel Global - a subsidiary of Viettel and one of Vietnam's largest investors in foreign countries - reported record-high quarterly revenue of $237 million in the first quarter of 2022, up 17% year-on-year. The markets of Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, remain important drivers of Viettel Global's growth.
With a slightly slower growth rate, another telecommunications brand, VNPT maintained its second position in the top most valuable brands. Over the past five years, VNPT has grown in both brand value and brand strength.
VNPT has ranked second in the national rankings for the fourth year in a row, and ranked in the top three since 2017. In recent years, VNPT has signed agreements with the Government and partners to improve connectivity solutions and 5G access networks in Vietnam.
Vinamilk is ranked third in terms of brand value, with a growth of 18% compared to 2021. Ranked third for four consecutive years and as the most valuable food brand in Vietnam, Vinamilk continues its relentless efforts to conquer the international market. The company has chosen sustainability as one of the four pillars of its growth strategy for the next five years.
For the banking sector, Techcombank had a remarkable jump in rankings when increasing 5 places compared to 2021, entering the top 10 for the first time. Vietinbank is ranked 9th, up 1 place compared to 2021.
Agribank continued its steady growth momentum with a growth value of 22%, maintaining its position as the most valuable bank brand in Vietnam.
In addition, some brands with stable growth value in the top 50 ranking include VPBank (growth 37%), FPT (growth 24.5%).
In the field of real estate, the brand value of Vinhomes 2022 is nearly $2.4 million, growing by 99%. This is the fastest growing brand in the top 10 most valuable brands in Vietnam.
In addition to calculating brand value, Brand Finance also determines brand strength through the assessment of marketing investment, stakeholder equity and business performance.
In compliance with ISO 20671, Brand Finance's assessment is based on market research data from more than 100,000 respondents in more than 35 countries and across nearly 30 sectors.
According to these criteria, MB is the strongest brand in Vietnam, with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) of 87.1/100 (up 26 points), and a corresponding AAA brand strength rating.
It is known that MB targets 23% profit growth this year, and plans to acquire a struggling lending company in Vietnam.
In addition, in the latest market research, Brand Finance analyzed the perception of 108 brands in Vietnam, 44 of which are in the top 100 most valuable national brands.
The results show that Viettel Telecom leads in terms of "brand value" and "brand identity", while Vinaphone leads in terms of "familiarity".
Vinamilk leads in “consideration” for those who are familiar with their products, and Vietnam Airlines is the most reputable brand according to the survey results.
