+ From February 1st, 2021, Vietcombank offers four brand-new account packages for individual customers with many outstanding incentives when they make transactions through cards or on VCB Digibank. The account packages include regular and essential banking services, such as Payment account, VCB Digibank application, Notice of balance change via OTT message (OTT Alert), and Vietcombank Connect 24 domestic debit card or Vietcombank Visa international debit card.  

+ FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) awarded the international PCI DSS certificate of payment card security to Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB). This is the fourth consecutive time MB has received the PCI DSS certificate and is the first time it has selected FPT IS as a partner in assessment and certificate issuance.


+ HSBC Vietnam and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) announced that the first domestic Letter Credit transaction (LC) on the blockchain platform in Vietnam had been successfully co-performed. The transaction was made on the Contour platform, based on R3's Corda blockchain technology, which is a part of Contour's Beta pilot phase.
+ Sai Gon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) implements a 3D-Secure authentication method for JCB international credit card to enhance security for online payment. Accordingly, during a transaction on e-commerce websites or shopping applications, after entering card information, customers need to enter an additional OTP authentication code sent via SMS or generated by the Token/mSign application to complete the payment.


+ The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has approved Indovina Bank Ltd to establish a branch in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on converting Phu My Hung Transaction Office under Indovina Bank Ltd - Ben Thanh branch, this branch has a full name "Indovina Bank Limited - Phu My Hung Branch", located at: No. 212 - 214, Hung Phuc Residential Area (Lot S10-2), Nguyen Luong Bang Street, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. 

+ From December 28th, 2020 to March 31st, 2021, the first 20,000 customers using a Sacombank Mastercard debit card for shopping online with a value of VND 1 million (non-cumulative) will receive an Urbox electronic voucher worth VND 100,000 at more than 200 brands and 8,000 stores nationwide, such as Phuc Long, Tiki, Grab, CGV, Gogi House, Manwah, Mobile World, The Coffee House, etc.

+ From December 23rd, 2020, customers can purchase Vietlott lottery tickets on their mobile phones through the digital payment system of Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank). Accordingly, subscribers of VinaPhone, MobiFone, and Viettel mobile networks can download the Vietlott SMS application on their phones and open Vietlott accounts as prescribed. 


+ The Governor of the SBV issued a Decision on amending the charter capital in the operation license of Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank). Point 4 of the Operation License No. 0051/NH-GP dated March 25th, 1994 and Clause c Article 1 of Decision No. 47/QD-NH5 dated March 25th, 1994 of the SBV on granting operation license to Southeast Asia Commercial Bank as follows: "4 - Charter capital: VND 12,087,442,080,000". 

+ From December 25th, 2020 to the end of March 20th, 2021, Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) launches the promotion program "Tan Suu An Khang - Tat Nien Van Loc" for customers having deposits at the counter, online deposit, and S-Free, Loc Phat payment accounts. Accordingly, qualified customers will receive a number to participate in the periodic and end-of-program lottery with a total prize value of VND 6 billion. The presents are attractive such as cash, motorbikes, refrigerators, washing machines, especially the Toyota Fortuner car worth VND 1.3 billion.


+ From now to January 16th, 2021, Tin Viet Finance Joint Stock Company (VietCredit) implements a series of attractive interest reduction and interest-free programs to gratitude customers when they withdraw money from shopping loan cards for year-end consumption needs. Specifically, VietCredit simultaneously launched two special promotions "Gold incentives for Customer gratitude: 15 loan days of reducing interest" for customers using VietCredit Loan Cards and "15 days of interest-free loan" for customers receiving cards before December 1st, 2020 and using the card for the first time to withdraw money.

+ Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank - HoSE: HDB) recently announced the signing of a contract to issue convertible bonds and strategic cooperation with foreign investors, completing the plan to supplement USD 160 million in tier 2 capital.

+ Sai Gon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was honored "Bank of the Year 2020" by The Banker. With optimistic ROE (Return On Equity ratio) and net profit growth, especially the impressive increase in charter capital and total assets, SHB has shown sustainable development in both scale and business operations.


+ The Governor of the SBV has approved the establishment of a branch of United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) in Ho Chi Minh City. The full name of the branch is United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited - Central Plaza Branch (Le Duan). It is located at Basement, Ground Floor and Mezzanine, Central Plaza Building, 17 Le Duan Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

+ The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has approved Sai Gon Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SCB) to increase its charter capital by a maximum of VND 5,000 billion from VND 15,231,688,100,000 in the form of issuing shares to existing shareholders. This plan of increasing the charter capital was approved at SCB's extraordinary Shareholders Meeting in 2020.
