The 9th Annual Award - Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards 2020 - was organized by the International Data Group (IDG) in parallel with the series of events "Vietnam Retail Banking Forum" under the auspices of the Vietnam Banking Association.
This award aims to seek and honor banks and financial organizations with excellent performance and contributions to the development of the finance and banking industry.
The “Bank for the Community Award” category emphasizes Vietnamese banks and financial organizations' contributions to social activities, educational development, environmental protection, rural development, and child protection and development. The members of the voting council of the Outstanding Vietnam Bank Award 2020 include representatives from Government agencies, ministries, associations, and experts in the fields of banking - finance, and technology.
They approved to grant Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BAC A BANK) "the Bank for the Community Award" for a series of practical and sustainable social security activities.
BAC A BANK has received many certificates of merit from ministries, departments as well as prestigious domestic and foreign organizations. BAC A BANK also received the "Bank for the Community Award" for three consecutive years 2015, 2016, 2017 in the framework of the "Outstanding Vietnamese Bank Award". This year, thanks to its excellent contributions to the community, BAC A BANK continued to be honored in this category.
In 2020, BAC A BANK was one of the pioneers in supporting the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic, enticing other businesses and organizations to participate in specific activities. For example, BAC A BANK and TH Group with the "For Vietnamese Stature Foundation" Fund awarded VND 5 billion and one million glasses of milk to frontline people in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic; donated 2 ventilators worth nearly VND 2 billion to Nghe An General Friendship Hospital.
The staff of branches in Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quang Binh, Ha Giang, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City was encouraged to donate one-day salary to support people in areas directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Besides, BAC A BANK and TH Group donated VND 5 billion to the "For the Poor" Fund and help people in the Central region heavily affected by floods and natural disasters.
Also, BAC A BANK has continued to partner with the "For Vietnamese Stature Foundation" Fund to ease people's difficulties in remote areas, support poor children, build civil works such as schools, clinics, bridges, and roads; support poor patients, and many other volunteer activities.
Along with these activities, BAC A BANK and the "For Vietnamese Stature Foundation" Fund are continuously implementing programs that increase employees' awareness, discover talents and initiatives from the young generation.
On the morning of October 28th, 2020, the BAC A BANK North Saigon branch was opened on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City.
The North Saigon branch is the 3rd branch and the 18th transaction point in Ho Chi Minh city. The number of BAC A BANK's transaction points now increases to 139 in 31 key economic cities and provinces of the country.
The open of BAC A BANK North Saigon Branch is expected not only to expand the network of this bank but also to contribute to the city's economic development, support local individuals and corporate customers. The branch office is located in the center of Hoc Mon district, one of the new economic development centers of Ho Chi Minh City. On the first day of opening, this branch attracted a large number of customers to transact.
