Overview of Vietnamese wood industry

In previous years, the wood export market experienced a remarkable recovery, boosting the growth of enterprises to a new growth momentum. In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic affecting major consuming countries such as the US and Europe, Vietnam still maintains its position in the wood market.

The effects of bushfires in Australia and the complicated epidemic situation in Western countries boosted the consumption of wood, leading to Vietnam becoming a key wood exporter.

In December 2020, Vietnam's wood export value reached nearly 11.6 billion USD, up 16% over the same period last year. Wood export market share reached 8.9% billion USD, up 22% over the same period.

Due to the impact of Covid-19, most timber companies in Vietnam witnessed a decrease in revenue compared to 2019.
