According to statistics from the financial statements for the third quarter of 2022, as of September 30, the total deposit balance of 27 banks reached more than VND 7.5 million billion, an increase of 3.8% compared to the end of 2021.
Ten banks with the largest bank deposits by the end of September 2022 includes BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank, Sacombank, ACB, MB, SHB, Techcombank, HDBank and LienVietPostBank.
Leading the ranking continued to be three state-owned banks, in which BIDV has mobilized the most deposits in the banking system with nearly VND 1.4 million billion, up 2.8% compared to the end of last year. Following are Vietcombank and VietinBank respectively with deposit balances of over VND 1.1 million billion, equivalent to an increase of 5.4% and 2.4% compared to the end of 2021.
The deposits of these three “giants” alone accounted for 50% of the total deposits of the whole system, reaching nearly VND 3.8 million billion.
In the group of private banks, Sacombank is the bank with the largest amount of customer deposits with more than VND 457,800 billion, up 7.1% compared to the beginning of the year. Following is ACB with deposits reaching more than VND 392,000 billion, up 3.2% compared to the beginning of the year.

On the other hand, 6 banks recorded a decrease in deposits in the first 9 months of the year. In particular, Kienlongbank saw the sharpest decrease in customer deposits. The bank's customer deposit balance was VND 42,200 billion as of September 30, down 18% compared to the beginning of the year. The other banks on the list are Viet Capital Bank, MB, VietABank, NCB, and OCB.
SCB and Agribank are not included in this list because they have not yet published their financial statements for the third quarter of 2022.
