The first companies to announce 9-month profits

Some of the first companies to announce their profits after 9 months of doing business in 2019.

The 9-month profit after tax of GAS reached VND 8,760 billion, exceeding 14.6% of the year plan but down 4% over the same period. The estimated 9-month profit after tax of ANV and TIG increased by over 60% over the same period. The estimated 9-month profit of Fecon increased by 23% to VND 151 billion.

It’s almost the end of the third quarter, in the context of the current information gap, the news of business results of the companies is always sought by investors. Many companies have announced their business results for the third quarter and the accumulation for the first 9 months of 2019. 

PV GAS

(PV Gas, HoSE: GAS) stated that in the first 9 months, total revenue reached 58,318.4 billion VND, up 1% and fulfilling 91% of the year plan. Profit after tax reached VND 8,760 billion, exceeding 14.6% of the year plan but down 4% over the same period.

SSI Securities Analysis Department (SSI Research) said that in the third quarter, the corporation was adversely affected by the fuel oil price (FO) dropping by 14% YoY, LPG price also dropped by 30%. Therefore, PV Gas recorded the revenue of 19,000 billion VND, down 2% and after-tax profit of 2,640 billion VND, down 19.4%. Dry gas output increased slightly but LPG output increased sharply.

SSI Research expects total net revenue of PV Gas in 2019 to reach VND 71,830 billion, up 5.5%; profit after tax of 13,800 VND, up 21.3%.

Fecon JSC (HoSE: FCN) 

Fecon JSC estimated that the 9 months' revenue was 1,843.4 billion VND, up by 8%; profit after tax was estimated at nearly 151 billion VND, up 22.6% over the same period last year. Comparing to the year plan, the company fulfilled 44% of revenue target and 42.4% of profit after tax target.

Particularly in the third quarter, the company estimated revenue of 750 billion and profit after tax of 42.3 billion; increased by 2.3% and decreased by 27% over the same period last year.

Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation 

Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation estimated that the total revenue in 9 months was 24,495 billion VND, EBT was 4,524 billion VND. Particularly in the third quarter, total revenue 8,744 billion and profit before tax of 1,879 billion.

Hydropower - Electricity Company 3 (HoSE: DRL)

Hydropower - Electricity Company 3 (HoSE: DRL) estimated the commercial electricity output in the first 9 months to reach 43.9 million kWh, equivalent to the total revenue of VND 63.6 billion, fulfilling 68% of the year plan. Profit after tax was estimated at VND 37.7 billion, fulfilling 70% of the plan. Both the revenue and profit of the company increased slightly compared to the same period last year.

Power Construction 1 (PCC1, HoSE: PC1) 

Power Construction 1 (PCC1, HoSE: PC1) was estimated at 9,393.3 billion VND in the first 9 months, up 22.7% over the same period and fulfilling 73% of the year plan; Profit after tax was estimated at VND 300.6 billion, down nearly 30% and fulfilling 71% of the year plan. The profit margin reached 7%.

The electrical construction segment still accounted for the largest proportion of PCC1's revenue in 9 months with 2,241 billion VND, the industrial production segment was 574 billion VND, the energy sector was 451 billion VND, and real estate segment accounted for the least with only 132 billion. Other activities of PCC1 exceeded the year plan and reached VND 996 billion.

Nam Viet Company (HoSE: ANV) 

Nam Viet Company (HoSE: ANV)  stated that in the first 9 months, it was expected to reach 3,105 billion VND, revenue was 3,150 billion VND, up by 14% YoY. Profit after tax was estimated at 510 billion, up 66% over the same period.

The company's gross profit margin reached 24%, up from 6% in the same period last year but decreased sharply compared to 41% in the fourth quarter of 2018. The reason for this was the period when pangasius prices peaked while production costs decreased.

Regarding business prospects in the fourth quarter - this is going to be the season when the world consumes a lot of fish, leading to a sharp increase in demand. Leaders of Nam Viet expect that fourth-quarter revenue can help the whole year reach 5,000 billion, exceed the year plan (4,700 billion) and profit to complete the 700 billion plan.

Thang Long Investment Group (HNX: TIG) 

Thang Long Investment Group (HNX: TIG) stated that in the first 9 months, it was estimated at 247 billion VND of revenue and over 58 billion VND of after-tax profit; increased by 27% and 64.3% over the same period. However, compared to the annual plan, the company has achieved nearly 55% of the revenue and profit plan. In 2019, the company sets a target of 450 billion dong revenue and 135 billion dong profit before tax; half and twice as much as in 2018.

Sharing at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, TIG management said that the revenue in 2019 was expected to be contributed by the Dai Mo project of VND 150 billion and the Garden King project of VND 250-300 billion
