Real estate – an investment magnet
Specifically, with relatively large supply yet inadequate rental demand during the period 2016 – 2017, the high-end apartment will experience a decrease in price. In addition, though the demands for mid-end and low-end apartments are still stable, there will be tough competition among projects on product quality and promotion. In the meantime, real estate for tourism and entertainment is enjoying the benefits due to the development of tourism.
Particularly, Vietnam welcomed nearly 87 million visits of both domestic and foreign visitors in 2017, an increase of 30 per cent y-o-y, total revenue from tourism this year is estimated at over VND510,000 billion. It is expected that in the next 3 years, Vietnam’s tourism industry will attract 20 million foreign visitors, 80 million domestic visitors; export value of tourism will be over USD 20 billion. Securities – positive reviews
All of those factors will continue to make major contributions for the development of security market. In fact, 2017 also marked a successful year of this sector with VN-Index’s increase of 45.8 percent, which is much higher than other investment channels and surpassing that of other regional markets.
However, experts have also pointed out that security is, though, a profitable investment channel, it holds a lot of risks, which requires investors to have a certain amount of knowledge.
Bank deposits are quite stable. In 2018, there is a lot of pressure to reduce deposit rates, but due to the capital structure of the economy still relying mainly on banks, it is very hard to reduce the deposit interest rate for one-year term more than 6.5 percent. In addition, gold and USD will remain stable as in 2017, herefore, if investors expect high profit growth, they should consider these two investment channels - added Dr. Dinh The Hien.
