There are 21 airports in Vietnam, including 12 domestic airports and 9 international ones. Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat are the two biggest airports, accounting for over 70% of passengers. According to VietnamCredit’s forecast, in 2021, other airports will expand their capacity and new airport will be established, which may decrease share markets of these to airports to under 60%.
Number of foreign passengers visiting Vietnam via airway has increased over the years. In 2017, this figured was haft as much again as that of 2014 with 22,864,000 visitors. Of which, Tan Son Nhat airport welcomed 25 million arrivals and about 15 million foreign visitors flew to Noi Bai airport. It is expected that in 2021, the number of foreign passengers to Vietnam will increase to approximately 40 million.
