The Vietnam National Quality Award is a part of the Asia Pacific Global Performance Excellent Award (GPEA) system of the Asia - Pacific Quality Organization - APQO) and is implemented based on accepting the model and criteria of the Quality Awards of advanced countries. This award is assigned to the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality (STAMEQ), a governmental agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) to hold.
The Vietnam National Quality Award is a form of annual honor and reward at the national level of the Prime Minister for organizations and enterprises that have achieved outstanding achievements in quality in production, business, and services; have contributed to improving the position of Vietnamese products and services, enhancing their capacity, competitiveness, and integration in both domestic and international markets; have built culture, productivity and quality movements in organizations and enterprises to contribute positively to the country's socio-economic growth.
Attending the National Quality Awards will help enterprises to learn, evaluate and comprehensively improve their management activities and product quality. This is also an opportunity for winning enterprises to promote their product brands, contributing to improving competitiveness in the context of international economic integration.
Organizations and enterprises participating in the National Quality Awards must meet the following conditions: being organizations, enterprises with legal status that have continuously been in operation in Vietnam and not violated the provisions of law for at least 36 months, up to the time of registration to participate.
Organizations and enterprises that have won the National Gold Quality Award will be allowed to re-participate in the National Gold Quality Gold Award after two years from the date of receiving this award. Especially, the organizations that won the National Gold Quality Award in the last two years are considered and selected to participate in the GPEA.
Established in 2009, over 20 years of development, the National Quality Award has attracted special attention and created a reputation for enterprises, regulators as well as consumers in society; has honored deserving enterprises.
Among 36 enterprises receiving the National Quality Award, there were 11 large manufacturing enterprises; 16 small and medium manufacturing enterprises; 2 large service enterprises, and 7 small and medium service enterprises.
The National Gold Quality Award 2020 was awarded to 19 enterprises. There were 15 manufacturing enterprises and 4 service enterprises to receive this award. To be specific, 13 large manufacturing enterprises include Viet Uc - Bac Lieu Joint Stock Company, Luong Quoi Coconut Processing Company Limited, PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, C.P. Vietnam Corporation - Dong Nai Branch 3, Bich Chi Food Joint Stock Company, Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company - Ha Nam Branch, ACECOOK Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Thinh Phat Cables Joint Stock Company, Nam Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company, Thua Thien Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company, and Viet Duc Steel Pipes Joint Stock Company. Two small and medium manufacturing enterprises include Vinh Hoan Collagen Company Limited and Nhat Nhat Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
Regarding four service enterprises, there were 3 large service enterprises (Tin Nghia Corporation, Truong Phat Company Limited, PTSC Thanh Hoa Port Joint Stock Company) and 1 small and medium service enterprise namely Thu Do Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company.
