Formed in 1976, after many changes in name and organizational structure, on April 29, 1995, Vietnam Paper Corporation was established on the basis of reorganizing the production, circulation and non-business units of the paper industry under the Ministry of Light Industry and other paper material suppliers under the Ministry of Forestry.
To implement this Decision, on August 2, 1995, the Government issued Decree No. 52/CP approving the Charter of Organization and Operation of Vietnam Paper Corporation. Accordingly, Bai Bang Paper Company is one of 15 independent accounting member units of Vietnam Paper Corporation.
On February 1, 2005 the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 29/2005/QD-TTg establishing Vietnam Paper Corporation as a special class State-owned enterprise (SOE) operating in the model of Parent - Subsidiary company, under the direct management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In order to operate in accordance with the Enterprise Law No. 60/2005/QH11, on June 25, 2010 the Prime Minister signed the Decision No. 983/QD -TTg to change the parent company of Vietnam Paper Corporation into a one-member limited liability company owned by the State.
