According to data from 28 banks that have announced their financial statements, the total assets of banks had mixed fluctuations in the first quarter with a not too large margin. Total assets of 28 banks (without Agribank) increased by 2.2% compared to the end of last year, reaching more than VND 13.2 million billion.
Two-thirds of these banks recorded growth in total assets, with HDBank and MSB recording the sharpest growth of more than 10%. Nam A Bank's growth rate was also close to 9.5%.
The banks that recorded a decrease in assets are VietABank, NCB, PG Bank, Saigonbank, BaoVietBank, Ban Viet, Vietbank, Eximbank, BIDV.
In terms of absolute balance, BIDV continued to be the leading bank in terms of total assets with more than VND 2.1 million billion, a slight decrease of 0.6% compared to the end of last year. Following are the other two giants - Vietcombank and VietinBank.
Among joint stock commercial banks, MB leads in terms of total assets with VND 760,761 billion, up 4.4% compared to the end of last year. The next positions in the top 10 are Techcombank, VPBank, ACB, Sacombank, SHB, HDBank.
