The information was provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade after a meeting with a number of businesses to evaluate the capacity and ability to supply masks to the market on the morning of February 2.
The delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including representatives from the Industry Department, the Import and Export Department, and the Domestic Market Department, has come to work with a number of enterprises to capture the situation of mask production, assess capacity and the ability to supply this item to the market for the prevention of acute respiratory infections caused by new strains of the Corona virus.
At Dong Xuan Knitting Company, Mr. Tran Viet, General Director of the enterprise, said that the company currently specializes in manufacturing antibacterial knitted fabrics to make garments for export to Japan. Products have met the standards of antibacterial clothing in this market.
Currently, the company's output is 50,000 pieces/day. However, Mr. Viet said that with the current market demand, the company could expand the scale of antibacterial masks to 6 times, reaching 300,000 units/day.
Babu company, which specializes in producing children's fashion, including masks, said that its products made from bamboo fibers have long-term antibacterial properties. Although the company has just passed the Tet holiday period, the company is rushing to expand its production line so that it can produce masks to meet the needs of society.
In some other businesses, the delegation has also received active cooperation in providing information about the production capacity of face masks.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that all businesses affirmed their sense of community in the production of this item, ready to produce and provide at a price equivalent to production costs, without taking an interest, without raising prices to best serve epidemic prevention requirements under the general guidance of the Government.
Enterprises also expressed their desire to be supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in connecting supplies, especially cloth supplies, so that masks can be produced in sufficient quantities. On the other hand, businesses also request the Ministry of Health to soon guide and support the procedures to recognize mask products that meet quality standards and technical regulations.
The delegation will synthesize information, report to the Ministry leaders and propose solutions to ensure the production, supply of masks to the market and distribute, circulate effectively, provide sufficient quality masks for people, contributing to stabilizing the market and preventing epidemics.
