Following is the news brief on Vietnam’s banking industry for the 13th week of 2021 compiled by VietnamCredit.

+ HDBank has just launched special offers on remittance fees and foreign exchange rate called "Quick money transfer - Safe settlement". Accordingly, from now to September 30, 2021, customers having the first transaction at HDBank or having an equivalent transfer amount of ≥ 100,000 USD or other equivalent foreign currency will enjoy free confirmation of the balance for the purpose of applying for a permanent resident visa and 50% discount on the overseas transfer service fee. Customers with or without HDBank accounts can transfer money to beneficiaries overseas quickly, accurately, without worrying about fees.

+ From March 16, 2021, VPBank officially launched the first online unsecured funding product on the market to help small and medium enterprises (SME) access business capital conveniently in only a few hours. Accordingly, existing SMEs with good credit history at VPBank only need to access the link, register and complete the 04 declaration steps. VPBank will receive dossiers, appraise and finance qualified businesses. The whole process takes place 100% online and disbursement time is only about 2 hours.


+ Bao Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank has just launched the program BAOVIET Easy Car 2021 with competitive interest rates. Accordingly, participating in the program, customers will receive a maximum reduction of first-term interest rates of up to 0.66% / year when buying cars and insurance through Bancassurance channel of BAOVIET Bank and other insurance companies cooperating with the Bank. In addition, customers wishing to get a loan with terms of at least 36 months can choose one of three options: interest rate of 6.66% for the first 3 months; 7.77% / year for the first 6 months or 8.88% for the first 12 months of the loan.

+ Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) officially launched a brand new digital banking service SmartBanking on the basis of consolidating online transaction platforms and replacing Internet Banking and Mobile services. SmartBanking is very convenient and has high security features such as identical username, password, customizing the interface over time, providing a unified online transaction limit (up to 1 billion VND per internal transaction for normal customers and 5 billion VND per internal transaction for VIP customers).


+ Moody's just announced to keep the credit ratings of the issuer, the long-term domestic and foreign currency deposits of TPBank at B1. At the same time, the credit outlook of the above indexes for TPBank has also been improved to "positive" from "stable". This is the highest credit rating in the Vietnamese banking system according to Moody's ratings, and only 9 banks achieved this prospect.

+ Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) and Vietnam National Payment Joint Stock Company (NAPAS) have cooperated to launch a promotion program called Techcombank F@stAccess NAPAS for new customers to open and pay by local chip cards. Accordingly, from March 16 to April 30, customers opening a new local Techcombank F@stAccess NAPAS chip card and making payments via POS machines with the minimum value from 500,000 VND at stores, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants will be refunded 200,000 VND to their accounts.


+ VietinBank has officially launched 3 zero-fee payment account packages including: Smart, Basic and Plus. Specifically, when participating in these packages, customers will enjoy service fees exemption, including: free account maintenance; free maintenance of VietinBank iPay Mobile; free maintenance of account information change service via OTT / SMS; free internal / external transfer transaction on iPay with transaction limit up to VND 15 billion / day, etc.
