About 15,000 companies “die clinical” in the first month of the year

There were 14,854 companies stopping business operation or dissolving in January, 2018…
According to the General Statistics Office, in the first month of 2018, there were 10,839 newly established companies with total registered capital of VND98.3 thousand billion, 20.6 percent higher in terms of quantity and 8.9 percent higher in terms of total registered capital compared to the same period of 2017.

In addition, there were 4,587 enterprises returning to operation, down 17.6% over the same period, making the total number of newly registered companies and companies back to operation in January more than 15,400 enterprises. The total registered labor force of newly established companies is 85,300 employees, equaling 82% of the same period of 2017.

By sector, there were 3,800 newly established companies in the wholesale and retail sector, up 24.1% over the same period; 1,400 construction companies, up 21.1%; 1,300 processing and manufacturing companies ...

The number of companies ceasing their businesses activities is 13,300, up 0.1% over the same period last year, of which there were 8,622 registered to suspend their business for a definite period of time, up 26.4% and 4,678 businesses temporarily suspended from registration or waiting for dissolution.

Most of them are One-member or Two-member Limited Liability Companies, small-scale Joint Stock Companies.

By sector, the number of companies registering to temporarily cease their business in the wholesale and retail sector accounts for nearly 40%. In addition, the number of enterprises stopped operating in the fields of the processing, manufacturing, accommodation and catering services also increased.

The number of businesses completing dissolution procedures in January 2018 was 1,554, decreasing 1.8% against the same period last year. Most of them were companies with the capital of under VND10 billion.

In conclusion, the total number of companies completing dissolution and cease business operation in January was 14,854.
